Fresh footage has surfaced online offering greater clarity on the heated exchange between scrumhalves Antoine Dupont and Ben White at Murrayfield.

The France captain initially drew criticism after appearing to snub White’s handshake following his side’s stunning 50-40 defeat to Scotland, which ended Les Bleus’ Grand Slam hopes.

Tempers had simmered throughout the match, with White seen goading his opposite number on several occasions.

It was White who dislodged the ball from Dupont’s grasp, leading to Kyle Steyn’s try. Dupont appeared unimpressed with the scrumhalf’s celebrations, with the pair squaring up.

After the match, the official France Rugby account on X posted a video of the post-match handshakes, showing Dupont turning away from White’s outstretched hand.

However, additional footage reveals that Dupont did eventually shake White’s hand moments later, although the France captain still appeared unhappy as the pair continued to exchange words.

The initial video shared by France Rugby cut away once the French players had moved down the tunnel while Scotland formed their post-match guard of honour.

But when the roles were reversed and France returned the gesture, Dupont and White finally shook hands, bringing an end to one of the match’s more talked-about flashpoints.
